Chiesa and its neighbour Caspoggio has a ski area with 80km of pistes,that is perfect if you are either a beginner or an intermediate. There is also one decent black run – the 'Wall'. There are 37km of cross-country trails and a specialist boarders' park and half-pipe. Chiesa does offer a wonderfully sedate Alpine environment in a traditional Italian setting. It has excellent mountain resturants and offers excellent value for money with good value hotel accomadation Overall, it's a great place to learn,and ideal for families and more econonomical than some of the larger Italian ski resorts with a good snow record and a mountain village scene.

Thanks to its geographical position Valmalenco is always covered in snow from December to April. 150 kilometres from Milan, Valmalenco is an ideal destination for all ski lovers, both beginners and intermediates, and it is also a suitable resort for family holidays and it attracts even people who don't practice winter sports. The equipment is top level and the great number of ski slopes is served by a close network of ski lifts, with some different routes for downhill skiing and itineraries for cross country skiing. "Snow Eagle" is the modern cable-way that in few minutes takes you from Chiesa to the ski-area of Alpe Palù, at a height of 2080 mt.
